DAWetRest Project at #EURegionsWeek2024 in Brussels
Brussels, October 9, 2024 – The Competence Centre Ltd. for Research and Development (CEKOM), a partner in the DAWetRest project, participated in the European Week of Regions and Cities 2024 (#EURegionsWeek). The event, dedicated to cohesion policy, serves as a platform for regions and cities across Europe to share policies and practices.
Highlighting the Spačva Basin and DAWetRest
Dr. Ivan Ambroš, Director of CEKOM, presented a session titled “Spačva Basin: Land of the Oaks – Saving the Forest to Save Us”. The session showcased CEKOM’s expertise and role in the DAWetRest project. The presentation underscored the link between forest preservation and broader environmental challenges.
Meetings and Discussions
CEKOM’s Deputy Director, Ana Bošković, joined Dr. Ambroš and representatives from Vukovar-Srijem County for meetings with the European Committee of the Regions, ERRIN (European Regions Research and Innovation Network), and the Permanent Representation of Croatia to the European Union and attended workshops and lectures covering topics such as the European Green Deal, Horizon Europe, circular economy, and carbon neutrality.
Building Connections at #EURegionsWeek2024
#EURegionsWeek provided a space for CEKOM to engage with stakeholders and policymakers. With nearly two decades of history, the event has become a hub for sharing ideas and fostering partnerships on regional and European challenges. The participation of CEKOM and its presentation on the DAWetRest project highlighted the role of collaborative efforts in addressing environmental and sustainability goals.
