DaWetRest presents Coloring Book at 5th General Assembly

On the first day, participants met to discuss the work of various project groups, review ongoing activities, and align on upcoming goals. The consortium also outlined the next steps for the project’s implementation and delivery. The third day of the event saw the participation of the associated regions of the DaWetRest project. A workshop titled “Innovations, Impact, and Exploitation of DaWetRest Project Results” was held, organized by Steinbeis Europa Zentrum in cooperation with INOVA+. The workshop provided valuable insights into the project’s results, exploring ways to maximize the impact and ensure the effective exploitation of its outcomes. On the last day, attendees had the opportunity to visit the pilot site on the Danube River in Romania, where renaturation measures are being implemented. The visit provided an on-the-ground understanding of the project’s goals and the practical challenges faced in restoring the wetlands and their ecosystems.

The storyline educates young readers about the importance of wetlands, biodiversity, wildlife, and the threats these areas face, along with the possibility of renaturation. Simple explanations and vibrant illustrations are designed to raise awareness while sparking curiosity among children and their families. The coloring book is available in four languages: English, Croatian, Bulgarian, and Romanian, making it accessible to a wide audience across the Danube region. Each version of the book follows the same narrative but includes two unique pages tailored to the specific region. One introductory page situates the journey within the local context, while another explains wetlands and restoration efforts at the respective pilot site. The English version serves as a general introduction to the wetlands of the Danube region, while the localized versions focus on the three DaWetRest pilot sites in Croatia, Bulgaria, and Romania.
